We set foot in Slovakia in August 2026, during a 73‑day European trip. Walking from Esztergom in Hungary, we crossed the Mária Valéria Bridge over the Danube into Štúrovo, ate ice cream in town, and walked back over the river the same morning. A brief visit — but a country all the same.
