Kandy is another big city, but we managed to find a very cheap place away from the city center, but easily reachable by bus. The bus into the city is only R2. We spent almost 4 hours in the Udawattakele Forest in awe of the massive trees and the greenness. Seeing the giant lianas were also a highlight. We then walked to the local market and sampled some ‘exotic’ fruits like the Durian, Mangosteen, Woodapple and Jack fruit. We ended the day by watching a cultural show with several dances and performances. For dinner we, yet again, forgot to ask for NO chillies in the food, which we’ll now regret twice. Once while eating it and again with our next bowel movement.
