After much deliberation we (Hugo) decided to rent a Royal Enfield Bullet 500c motorbike to drive to Leh over four high mountain passes. The first pass, Rohtang pass, translates to field of corpses. Nonetheless, we made the journey to Leh in three days overnighting in Keylong at 3400m and Pang at 4600m, with only one minor mishap on the first day. The 440km took about 20 hours of driving over the three days. It was an amazing experience with breathtaking landscapes ranging from green snow capped mountains to desert plains and ice shelves.
